Mark Allen Wasson

Mark was born in Austin, Texas on May 26, 1957, to Bill Wasson and Millie Bell. His family lived in many different states as his father was a Lt. Colonel in the U.S. Airforce until they finally settled in Longmont, Colorado.

Mark was a journeyman electrician by trade, then toward the end of his career, he decided to become an HVAC controls technician for the St. Vrain Valley School District. He retired in 2012.

He was very talented and skilled. He could fix practically anything. He did electrical, construction, tile, HVAC, mechanical, etc., but hated plumbing!

Mark loved to hunt and fish. He looked forward to dove season that began September 1st of every year. He mostly enjoyed walleye fishing at Glendo and Greyrocks Reservoirs in Wyoming, as well as a few local lakes and streams that he frequented.

He was also a food connoisseur! He was always looking for the next best buffet and constantly researching recipes and cooking videos. However, he hardly ever did any of the cooking, just collected recipes! His specialty was cooking walleye and his favorite baked beans. If you had a meal with Mark, undoubtedly, he would ask, “You gonna eat all that?”!

Mark had a very special group of buddies who checked on him throughout his illness. We will be forever grateful to them, as well as our wonderful families and friends who surrounded us with love and prayers.

Mark is survived by his wife, Renee, sons Ryan (Jessica) of Minatare, NE, and Brent of Longmont, CO, daughter Wendy Eakin (Matt) of Alvarado, TX, two grandchildren, Tristan (Karti) and Sydney of Alvarado, TX, one great-granddaughter, Scarlett of Alvarado, TX, his father, Bill, brothers, Mike (Candace) and Steve (Cathy), and several nieces and nephews. Mark is preceded in death by his mother, Millie.

We will celebrate his life with family and friends at a gathering in June, his favorite fishing month.
