Marjorie L. White, 90, of Longmont passed away July 6, 2017, surrounded by her two daughters and the loving staff at Atria Senior Living.Marge was born May 9, 1927, in Sterling, Illinois to Paul Laursen and Evelyn Sturdevant Laursen. She grew up in Rock Falls, Illinois and was active in school activities. She sang for many civic events and in various churches.On March 5, 1947, she married Raymond T. White in Rock Falls, Illinois, and was married to her best friend for 70 wonderful years. They lived in Amboy, Illinois form 1949 to 1958 where she was a board member of the Methodist church and served on the Amboy library board. They moved to Boulder, Colorado in 1958 and finally to Longmont in 1999.Marge worked for the Boulder Valley School District and retired in 1982 after 25 years. She volunteered for several years at the Boulder Historical Society. Marge loved to travel and saw a lot of great sights around the 50 states and Canada. She loved to play bridge and all kinds of games.Marge was preceded in death by husband, Raymond White, and son-in-law, E.J. Westback.Marge is survived by her daughters Cindy Westback and Terri O'Brien, grandson Tim Westback and wife Angie, great grandsons Ryan and Eric, son-in-law Pat O'Brien and brother Robert Laursen.Memorial services will be held at 1:30pm on Monday, July 17, 2017 at the Ahlberg Funeral Chapel. She will be buried next to her husband of 70 years, Raymond, at Fort Logan National Cemetery. Cremation entrusted to Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory.
