Marjorie Helen Sovocool, 61, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, June 11, 2019. She was born in Batavia, NY on November 14, 1957, to James Eugene and Helen Corbin Sovocool. Marji˜s family moved around the country with her father's work, living in: LeRoy, NY; Andover, MA; Creve C ur, MO; Mankato, MN and Virginia Beach, VA, where Marji graduated in 1976 from Kempsville High School. She attended Tidewater Community College and ITT Technical Institute to study drafting. Marji had a long and varied career in drafting, retail and commission sales. As an adult, she lived and worked in Virginia Beach and Richmond, VA and Charlotte, NC. She moved to Centennial, CO in 2007 and Longmont in 2012. Marji was a sensitive person, filled with empathy for the less fortunate. She had a particular love for animals and was devoted to her friends. Her best friend Shannon Ray, lived in her complex and drove her and others to The River Church of Lyons, each Sunday. There she found the love of Christ in the people and was touched by their ministry. Marji began to get involved in making cookies for those in need at Christmastime and attended a Ladies Bible Study. Late in 2018, she was diagnosed with cancer and six months later, left us for heaven. She is survived by three siblings, Elizabeth Stewart (Don) of Estes Park, CO; James E. Sovocool, Jr. (Patti) of Hatfield, PA and Jonathan E. Sovocool (Hollie) of Audubon, fifteen nephews and nieces and a large extended family. Marji is buried in a family plot at Glenwood Cemetery, alongside her parents and grandparents in Afton, NY.
