Maria De Jesus Portillo

Maria De Jesus Portillo went to be with Jesus on November 7th 2019. She was born on October 12th 1942. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. She was happily married to Monico Portillo for 53 years. She loved her children Luis, Adrian, Monica and Mario deeply. Her 13 grandchildren were a great joy in her life. Danie, Jesse, Ruben, Jordan, C.J., Kiana, Mario, Mateo, Keilani, Justina, Marcelo, Lily, Leo.

Maria was a woman of few words, great actions and many acts of kindness. She was a woman of great faith in Jesus, love for her family and friends, and a lifetime of selfless serving. She would probably say that her greatest accomplishment was receiving God’s grace and accepting Jesus in her heart. She was always sharing the gospel, not always by words but by the grace and kindness that she showed to others. She was very involved in her church and held a deep love for her sisters and brothers in the church.

Maria enjoyed life and was easily brought to laughter. She always enjoyed singing but because of her humble nature many never heard her beautiful singing voice. She always had a special place in her heart for her grandkids and in her retirement she loved on and cared for them regularly.

Maria was deeply loved and will be missed by many.

There will be a closed casket visitation at Howe Mortuary (439 Coffman Street, Longmont, CO 80501) on Thursday 11/14 from 3pm to 7pm. The memorial service will be at Life Bridge Christian Church (10345 Ute Highway, Longmont Colorado 80504) on Friday 11/15 at 11:00 am. Private family burial will follow the memorial service and a public reception will follow at Howe Mortuary.
