Linda K. SchneiderSeptember 28, 1940 - December 20, 2018Linda Kay Schneider,78, beloved wife of William Schneider, passed away under hospice care at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Lafayette, CO, on December 20, 2018. Linda was born to Dorothy and Doyle Bittner, in Canton, Ohio, on September 28, 1940. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Bill, and her loved daughter, Julie Garcia and grand kids Zach Garcia and Mallory Garcia.Linda graduated from Middlebranch High School in Canton, Ohio, in 1958 and received her Registered Nursing degree from the Altman School of Nursing, Canton, Ohio, in 1963. Linda and Bill were married on St. Patrick's day, March 17, 1963, and celebrated 55 very special wedding anniversaries together.Linda worked for over 42 years as a Register Nurse, and while Bill moved several times with IBM, she practiced in many different areas of nursing. Linda worked for several years in newborn nurseries, a state psychiatric hospital, an alcohol treatment facility, a children's shelter, and for the last 17 years with the medical staff at the Boulder County Jail, retiring in 2003. Linda loved to read, thoroughly enjoyed and loved her family and friends, and would do anything to help those who needed it. She and Bill loved to cruise and did so several times with friends Pat and Jack Voltz and with daughter Julie, and grand kids Zach and Mallory. Linda also loved music. She and Bill attended just about every band concert and marching band performance that the grandkids, Zach and Mallory, participated in from middle school at Altona MS, Silver Cheek High School, and CSU Marching Band. And, over the past few years, attended all of Zach's band concerts as a music director (educator) in St. Vrain and at Pinnacle Charter School. Mallory is now a successful accountant and Linda could not have been more pleased with all she accomplished. Linda also went to performances of the Longmont Concert Band when Bill was a member. Bill also has been a volunteer in the band program at Altona MS for these past 11 years and Linda had attended all of those concerts and enjoyed the many kids coming to her home for lessons with Bill over the years. Daughter, Julie, works in the University of Colorado's Medical Center and Linda was so proud of all that she has accomplished. Both she and Bill could not have asked for a better, caring daughter and mother to Zach and Mallory. She raised two beautiful, wonderful, successful grand kids. Per Linda's wishes there will be no service to honor her. In lieu of cards or flowers to Bill and family, memorials may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, https://www.pulmonaryfibrosis.org , or the American Cancer Society.
