She was attended by her family at Pathways of Northern Colorado in Fort Collins. Linda was born in Longview, Washington and grew up on the slopes of Mount St. Helens and in the suburb of Milwaukie, Oregon, now part of Portland. She eventually moved to Ventura, California during her marriage to William R Armstrong Sr. and resided there until 2006.
God endowed Linda with the spirit of a caretaker and healer. She was a graduate of Providence Hospital Nursing program, and held a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Chapman College, in Orange California. She was a dedicated and capable Registered Nurse at Saint John’s Regional Medical Center, located in Oxnard, California. Notably in her 42-year career she cared for recovering heart patients as part of the Coronary Care Unit. She also had the honor of serving as a responder on President Ronald Regan’s trauma team, and was also on the front lines of the AIDS epidemic. She leaves behind many friends who enriched her life and colleagues who she mentored in the nursing field.
Linda is survived by her son William R Armstrong Jr. of Berthoud Colorado, her granddaughter Sophia R Kea-Armstrong of Hagerstown, Maryland, her granddaughter Afton Elizabeth Armstrong of Loveland, Colorado all of whom she had a profound influence in raising. Linda is also survived by her sister Polly Vosper of Escalon, California and her two adult daughters Wendy and Theresa. Her cousins Chris and James Mariman of Boise, Idaho also fondly remember Linda through their many memorable vacations and sojourns together. There are many extended friends and family who also have fond and memorable recollections of Linda in California, Idaho, and Colorado.
Linda had a gregarious nature and loved socializing, holidays, and celebrations for which she was dubbed by a co-worker “Hostess of the Universe.” Her family will remember her at holidays and celebrations for which she passed the traditions of cooking, decorations, and crafts of the occasion all made in grandiose style. Despite life’s challenges, she lived a full life with a positive “go with the flow” outlook. Linda enjoyed rearing exotic orchids, animals of all kinds, learning with her grandchildren, and Scottish history.
In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations in her honor go to:
Pathways Inpatient Care Center of Northern Colorado

A private burial ceremony will be held by the family at a future date.
