Lillian Eleanor Cunningham died October 2, 2006 at Life Care Center of Longmont following a long illness with Alzheimer?s disease. She was 86 years old.Lillian was born to Jake and Emma (Schnell) Peppler at Timnath, Colorado on November 15, 1919. She married Ersom Allen ?Curly? Cunningham on January 26, 1942.Mrs. Cunningham was baptized as a child and regularly attended Christ congregational Church and later the Grace Evangelical Free Church. She was a life member of Women?s Auxiliary of the VFW post 2601, the Longmont Senior Center, and was a life member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.Lillian was always a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, putting her family first. She was a wonderful seamstress making dolls, Afghans, and handcrafted items for family and friends. Her contagious laugh and quick smile were ever present and she loved spending time with friends and family and playing a good card game.Mrs. Cunningham was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and two brothers: Lloyd and Jacob Peppler, Jr.She is survived by a son, Allen and his wife Rosy of Tucson, Arizona; a daughter, Janet Graham and her husband Murry of Columbia Falls, Montana; five grandchildren: Joel Cunningham, Dawn Sloan, Brian Bott, Katie Lemke, and Faye Graham; twelve great grandchildren; two brothers of Longmont: Ed and Vernon Peppler; sister-in laws: Carol Peppler, Sophie Cunningham, Tiny Mitchell of Pratt, Kansas, Delia Rahlston of Clovis, New Mexico; and numerous nieces and nephews.A private Burial service was held on October 4 at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery. A memorial service to celebrate Lillian?s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 18 at Christ Congregational Church with her son, Reverend Allen Cunningham officiating.
