LeRoy Spencer Hughes

Leroy S. Hughes was born in Bay Shore, New York on May 7, 1943. Roy grew up playing sports and enjoying life on Long Island. In 1964 he met Maureen McCue and they were married. Roy & Maureen had 2 children, Roy Hughes and Heather Maniscalco (nee Hughes). He is survived by both children as well as son-in-law Charles Maniscalco and daughter-in-law Jennifer Hughes. Grandchildren Jamie Tetrault (nee Maniscalco), CJ Maniscalco, Jacob Maniscalco and Jason Roberts. Along with great-granddaughters Bethany Tetrault, Jacqueline Maniscalco and Charlotte Maniscalco. Roy was a career Air Force National Guardsmen. His career spanned from 1964 - 1997. After retiring from the guard, Roy enjoyed a second career at the Ph nix Zoo. Roy was always smiling and had friends all over the globe. He enjoyed baseball, and together with his son, a special bond was formed and nurtured for many decades. Roy was especially close with his daughter Heather. Together they traveled and Roy was a fixture at all his grandchildren's plays, recitals and sporting events. Roy was extremely proud to be a Great-Grandfather. Nothing made him happier than holding his great-grandchildren. He will sorely be missed. Dad impacted so many people and he was always up for an adventure. We love you and miss you Dad. Roy & Heather
