Lauretta Hazel Sykes

Lauretta was born November 21, 1926 in Hebron Nebraska to Henry and Laura Feess. Lauretta lived in or around Deshler Nebraska throughout her childhood.

On December 16, 1945 Lauretta married Archie Sykes in Concordia Kansas. They had four children. They moved to Longmont in 1952 where she resided until the last two years when she moved to Loveland.

Lauretta worked as a Quality Control Inspector at Amphenol Corp until their closure. After that she worked also as a Quality Control Inspector at Sherwood Enterprises until her retirement in 1984.

Lauretta loved her occasional trips to Black Hawk along with their many travels to Hawaii, Philippine’s, New Zealand and Australia amongst others. The couple loved to camp and fish in their retirement years.

Lauretta’s family or known as “her tribe” was the highlight of her life. She was always there for her kids and grandkids. She will be greatly missed by them all.

She is survived by her son Doug and wife Pam, son Greg and wife Linda, daughter Marla and husband John, sister Donna and husband Larry and sister Beverly and her husband Don along with 10 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren.

Lauretta is proceeded in death by her husband Archie, daughter Jennifer, Brother Laverne, sister Agnes and parents Henry and Laura.

Visitation will be held at Howe Mortuary on Sunday March 15th from 3-5 and Funeral Services will be held Monday March 16 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church 1000 15th Ave in Longmont. Memorials can be made out to Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
