Kory Robert Nicastle

Kory Robert Nicastle, age 39, was set free on Sunday, June 23, 2024 surrounded by his closest loved ones.

Kory was born on May 23, 1985 in Westminster CO. After Kory graduated from high school in 2003 he went on to study criminal justice at the University of Northern Colorado, graduating in 2007. He spent time working as a security guard and warehouse technician. He graduated from the Jefferson County Combined Regional Police Academy in 2013 and went on to work for the Mountain View Police Department. In 2014 Kory married Stephanie Tipton and later that year they welcomed their first child, Brennan, into the world. In 2017 their second child Ryleigh was born.

Kory was affectionately referred to as the “kid whisperer” by immediate family. He had an understated way about him that every kid in the family was drawn to. He was the silent observer, had a go-with-the-flow personality, and never wanted to be the center of attention. However, he made sure his smart and witty humor did not go unnoticed. He had an affinity for salty snacks and all things sports. Kory was a devout family man and had a close relationship with God. He will be greatly missed.

Kory is survived by his children, Brennan and Ryleigh Nicastle; his parents Mark and Robin Nicastle; his siblings and their spouses, Laura and Clayton Rodeback, Kevin and Candice Nicastle, and Michael and Kristen Nicastle. He is also survived by many extended family members who loved him dearly.

He is predeceased by his grandparents Harold and Laurell Vermeer, Robert and Priscilla Nicastle, his two uncles Timothy Vermeer and Richard Nicastle, his cousin Matthew Nicastle and his sister-in-law Tiffany Nicastle.

A visitation for Kory will be held Tuesday, July 2, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Howe Mortuary, 439 Coffman Street, Longmont, Colorado 80501. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at 9:30 AM at Rocky Mountain Christian Church - Niwot Campus, 9447 Niwot Road, Longmont, Colorado 80503. A reception with family and friends will follow at 10:30 AM.
