Kenneth was born on December 11, 1926 in Odessa, MO, the son of Roy and Lottie Wheatley. He graduated from Holden High School and immediately entered the Army for four years. He married Leola Hensley on March 6, 1949.
Kenneth was a farmer and had worked for a few different companies over the years. He was a loving Husband, Dad and Grandpa.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Leola, two sons, Steve (Paula) and Mike (Cindy) all of Longmont and one daughter Karen Svaldi of Brighton, CO. He is further survived by his grandchildren Brian Wheatley of Longmont, Michelle (Stuart) Koci of Steamboat Springs, CO, Dawn Svaldi of Brighton, CO, Jesse Svaldi of Hudson, CO., Jarrod (Katie) Eikenberg of Longmont, Chelsea (Dylan) Hinton of Ft. Leavenworth, KS and 3 great grandchildren. One sister Mildred Scrutchfield of Blue Springs, MO and one brother Larry (Verda) Wheatley of Odessa, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Lottie Wheatley of Odessa, MO, one sister Geraline (Charles) Pinson of Odessa, MO, one brother Bob Wheatley of Odessa, MO, son in law Skip Svaldi of Brighton, CO and brother in law Russell Scrutchfield of Blue Springs, MO.
Visitation will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 9 at Howe Mortuary in Longmont. Funeral services will immediately follow at 12:00 pm, also at Howe Mortuary. Interment will then be held at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery.
