Kenneth James Butler passed away September 19, 2016. He was 41 years old.Kenny/James was born on June 21, 1975 in Longmont, Colorado to Robert and Cherie (Brassfield) Butler. He grew up in Longmont and attended Skyline High School.While a teenager, he worked for the Boulder County Sheriff's Department as a victim's advocate. He was an interstate truck driver as a young adult, and in the past decade, he used his gifts as a craftsman remodeling homes, and most recently remodeling homes for people with disabilities.Kenny loved to play softball, woodworking, writing and reading. He also loved his dogs Winchester and Remington.Kenny was deeply loved by his family and many friends. He was an intelligent, creative, witty, gentle man, and was generous with all his talents.He was preceded in death by his father Robert Butler.Kenneth is survived by his mother and step-father Cherie and Mark Stewart; his brother and sister-in-law Kevin and Julie Butler; his step-sister Sara Stewart; his nieces Tricia and Sophia Butler; and numerous cousins and many friends.A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM Friday September 30, 2016 at Grace Evangelical Free Church in Longmont.
