The first time I saw Karen, we were 9 years old.  From that moment on, she was my secret sweetheart. It was the crush that lasted a lifetime. I never told my friends about it, and I never had the courage to tell her, either. But Morgan is a good man and she made a great choice. Now, 2020, I have learned of her passing. I am so saddened.  I only hope that Morgan and their daughter go on to live lives full of happiness and treasured memories. I'm sure she would want it that way.  Deepest condolences from me and my family.

It is with great sadness that Jennie and I note Karen's passing. Karen has been a very special member of the Turner family for as long as I can remember. She surmounted the challenges of dating one of Glady's sons and provided a lively an much loved foil at times to our Dad as well. Will always remember and appreciate how she supported and encouraged my academic pursuits as a young man when I and  many of my peers couldn't understand the study time involved to become physician. It helped to know my family cared about my efforts and believed in me and Karen was Family.

Karen possessed expertise and interest inn so many areas including skiing, cooking, fabrics and decorating to name just a few. She may have hoped some of it would rub off on me, I suspect to no avail! Yet she never was shy to offer a considered opinion on my plans or provide a bit of skiwear to complete my haphazard approach to on-slope attire. She was a gracious host and I will always appreciate her willingness to invite Jennie and I into her home and to share her family's life with us. Karen was a devoted wife, mother and friend to so many.  It has been so surprising and difficult to loose someone with so much to offer others. I have thought about her often and fondly over the last year and will continue to do so. Thank you Karen. 

Our condolences to all who loved her and especially to Morgan and Brooke. Karen has been and will be sincerely missed.

I am so sorry for your loss. I know you both were her world! Karen was my best friend and saw me through so much. She was like a big sister to me during those years when we lived in Longmont. It's been hard for me to process all this,  she was so healthy and active, so heartbreaking. I love you both and I know Karen is in a better place watching over you.

So sorry to hear about Karen.  Glad we got to see her at our last reunion.  Life is short but it sounds like she made the most of her 72 years.

Morgan, I am sorry to hear about Karen. I remember her from high school with her great smile and attitude. She was a pillar to everyone in the ski industry.   My sincere sympathy to you and your family.

Dear Brooke & Morgan. My heart sank when I read your post - I'm so very saddened to learn of Karen's passing. I was a Pi Phi at Boulder and on the exec council when Karen was chairman of the ACC board. She truly was a saint to deal with all of us - we certainly did not make her job easy!  Karen took it all in stride and was always was there for us with the perfect advice. She was the most amazing woman- great example of what we all should strive to be. Her love for the two of you was so incredibly deep, you could tell how proud she was to have such a fabulous husband and daughter. Much love to your entire family from Hazen in Telluride...

Karen possessed wisdom and was the true friend in life.  I send my blessings to Morgan and her daughter Brook.  She was this 90 lb wonder of can do, the person who was the queen of multitasking.  She was a Pi Phi in the whole sense of the organization.  She could handle the details and the biggies equally. I’m so very sad to hear of Karen’s passing.  Karen spoke often of her wonderful husband & beautiful daughter.
I met Karen about 15 years ago while volunteering at Eagle County’s 4H sewing camp.  She had a talent & knowledge of sewing that I will always remember & envy.  I called Karen on different occasions for advice when I was stuck with a sewing project, she was always so happy to answer my questions.
Karen stayed with my family one year during summer sewing camp, about a week or two later I received a huge box in the mail filled with every Bernina  accessory imaginable!  Every time I walk into my sewing room I think of this wonderful generous friend.
Karen, you will remain in my heart.

The entire family has been in our prayers and will continue to be in our prayers in the coming days and weeks.

Karen, my "big sister", has always been a huge part of my life and the the life of my family. She taught me the joys of cooking, caring, conversation, and kindness. Susie and the kids always loved spending time with her when we visited Colorado. 

Karen will be missed. 

May the Lord continue to bless you with His Divine comfort and peace.
