Karen Eileene (Weimer) Fanning was born in Denver, Colorado on March 16, 1942, to David and Elizabeth Weimer. She was reborn as a child of God in the waters of Holy Baptism on May 24, 1942 at Grace Lutheran Church in Hudson, Colorado. In the same congregation she was confirmed in the Christian faith on May 20, 1956 and was fed the life-giving body and blood of Jesus.
She was united in holy marriage to Max Fanning on November 23,1961, and they were blessed with 61 years of married life together. God also blessed them with the gift of children: a son Michael and a daughter Melanie. On March 15, 2023, God called Karen home to heaven. She is survived by her husband Max Fanning; her daughter Melanie (Kevin) Vezzani; her daughter-in-law Tina Fanning; her grandchildren, Megan (Christian) Schinbeckler, Sarah Fanning, Max Vezzani, Joseph Vezzani and Isabella Vezzani. She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Elizabeth Weimer; her sister, Sharon Rupple; and her son, Michael Fanning.
Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints. The Lord gives and the Lord takes away; blessed be the name of the Lord. We give thanks to God our Father through Jesus Christ, our Lord, for our sister Karen Fanning.
