June was born on June 11, 1939 in Arriba, Colorado to Roger McDonald and Nora Emery McDonald. Raised on the plains of eastern Colorado, she loved life there as a young girl. She graduated from Arriba High School in 1957.
June married Richard Wells on June 23, 1957 in Arriba. The couple moved following Dick’s career, landing in Longmont in 1969. June enjoyed traveling with her husband and children around not only the United States, but many trips overseas, including stops in multiple European countries. She had joined the Longmont Senior Center, where she took classes and joined the quilting classes.
