Juanita “Susie” Ruiz was born July 15th, 1957 in Longmont Colorado to Beatrice and Valente Mireles. Susie was one of nine children and was raised in Lafayette Colorado with her four brothers (Fernie, Junior, Clyde and Ben) and four sisters (Amy, Gloria, Lisa and Selma). Susie graduated from Centaurus high school in 1975. After graduation, she married her longtime friend and the love of her life, Mario Ruiz. Susie and Mario went on to have five children, Juan Luis, Angel Isaac, Mario Alonzo, Leticia Carmen and Joel Esteban. Susie spent her life loving and serving the Lord, Jesus Christ, as well as her family. Susie was joyful, faith-filled, always hopeful and tons of fun. She loved spending time with her family, listening to music, playing games, watching baseball and sharing the gospel with friends and strangers alike. Susie was always ready to listen to anybody who needed encouragement or guidance. On August 11, 2020 Susie passed away in her home surrounded by loved ones. Mario, and Susie’s children are left to cherish her memory along with Susie’s son and daughter’s in law, and her 20 precious grandchildren. Susie will also be greatly missed by her father, two brothers, three sisters and a host of extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Beatrice Mireles, her brothers, Benjamin Mireles and Fernie Mireles, and her sister, Gloria Martinez.
