Juanita (Esch) Hall was born in Winfield Kansas on July 2, 1935, to Frank and Beulah (Hankins) Esch. At the time of Juanita's birth the family resided on a ranch North of Dexter Kansas. The family lived in Cedar Vale Kansas during Juanita's elementary years where her typical mode of transportation to the little country school was her trusted horse. Juanita graduated from Moline High School. All of Juanita's early years were spent on a ranch doing chores and on horseback moving cattle with her Dad. She was even a rodeo queen at the Elk County Fair and Rodeo! Juanita attended Emporia State University and was working for an attorney in Moline Kansas when she met Phil Hall. Phil and Juanita were married in Moline Kansas the day after Thanksgiving, 1956. Phil and Juanita moved from Augusta Kansas to Longmont Colorado in 1966 where they raised their family of three sons. As a homemaker, Juanita was a great cook, an accomplished seamstress, and was always working on craft & crochet projects. Family time usually involved camping, fishing, and trail bikes or skiing!
Beginning in 1972, after their youngest son started school, Juanita began working as a secretary / administrative assistant for the First Congregational Church in Longmont where she was employed for 25 years, officially retiring in 1997. Juanita, always being an active church member, became even more so after becoming an employee, passionately serving wherever she saw a need; the annual Christmas Home Tour and Women's Fellowship among her favorites.
Outside of home and work (in her spare time!), Juanita loved being a member of the PEO, was involved in the Hover Historical Society, played in several bridge clubs, was a wonderful helping friend to her neighbors, and supported Phil during his years on the ski patrol.
Juanita passed away at home with family on Sunday, December 4th. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Phyllis Osborne of Elk Falls Kansas, and her beloved son Paul David. Juanita is survived by her husband Phil, son Jim Hall and Sandi of Cheyenne Wyoming, son Steve Hall and Sherry of Ten Sleep, Wyoming, and Grandson Samuel Hall of Ten Sleep, Wyoming.
Memorial services for Juanita will be held at the Ahlberg Funeral Chapel in Longmont, Colorado on Wednesday, December 14th, at 10:30 AM.
The family requests that donations in honor of Juanita be made to the Paul Hall Memorial Scholarship Fund at Adams State University, Disabled American Veterans, Wounded Warriors, or the charity of their choice.
