James Malcolm McGregor of Longmont, died January 25, 2014, in his home at the age of 85. He was born December 23, 1928 in Birmingham, Alabama to David and Annie Laura McGregor. He spent his childhood in Alabama, raised his family in New Jersey and retired in Florida, eventually moving to Colorado for his final years. Jim attended the University of Alabama and was a passionate fan of the Crimson Tide football program all of his life. His studies were cut short to serve in the United States Navy for a brief time after which he pursued a career in music and theater. He married the love of his life, Lindsay Kirkpatrick, and the two briefly continued their theater career in New York until a family came along. After raising their three children on the Jersey Shore, Jim and Lindsay retired to Ft. Myers, Florida where they spent 15 years. A few years following the death of his wife, he moved to Colorado. Jim was a funny and thoughtful man, and was dearly loved by his children, grandchildren, extended family and many friends. His time spent in New Jersey, Florida and Colorado allowed each of his children the blessing of living close to and caring for their parents at varying times in their lives. Jim is survived by his brother Tom (Annette) McGregor of Montgomery, AL, and his children Jim (Rosemary) McGregor of Ft. Myers, FL, Halley (Anthony) Pasanello and children Taylor of Denver, CO and Katharine of Wall Township, NJ and Lindsay (Terry) Adams and children Carly, Lucas and Lauren of Firestone, CO.
