He was born May 13, 1921 in Woodston, Kansas to Orley and Susie Musgrove. He graduated from Mankato, Kansas High School and then finished his education by correspondence and became ordained by the Assemblies of God of Kansas in November 1947.
On June 2, 1940 he married the love of his life, Jessie IseBelle Jones. They were married for over 60 years and exemplified what a marriage should be. Jessie preceded him in death March 2001.
Reverend Musgrove and his wife pastored many churches in Kansas before moving to Ft. Collins in 1960 to assume the pastorate at the First Assembly of God. He was there until 1974 and was instrumental in building a new building and seeing many lives changed in a positive way. This church later became Timberline Church. From 1974 to 1977 he and his wife were pastors at an Assembly of God Church in Colorado Springs. Then in 1977 they moved to Longmont and became the Senior Adult, hospital and rest home pastors at Bethel Temple which later became New Creation Church. One highlight he cherished during this time was dinner at the Whitehouse with President Regan. Pastor Musgrove retired in 2003. He received an award from Applewood Retirement Center for over 25 years of outstanding service and dedication to the residents there. He will be remembered for his great love for God, his love for his wife and his love for people. He was always the first one there when you needed prayer or guidance. He was a man of wisdom who truly showed God in his everyday life. He was loved by all who knew him and will be missed.
He is survived by four sisters; Geneva (Leroy) Furey of Manhattan, KS, Marie Conyers of Salina, KS, Nina (James) Todd of Manhattan, KS and Shirley (Russell) Lewis of Wamego, KS and two brothers; Albert Musgrove of Peoria, IL and David (Nedra) Musgrove of Winfield, KS and many friends. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by one sister, Elizabeth Earnest and two brothers; Orley Lorraine and Paul Raymond Musgrove.
A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 am December 23rd at New Creation Church with Pastor Mario Latini and former New Creation music minister, Ronnie Brumley officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to New Creation Church or Boulder County Hospice.
