Ida Mae Ray of Longmont passed away February 10, 2017.Ida was born September 10, 1926, to John and Stella Cummings. Ida married Julius L. Ray August 15, 1947 in Evansville, IN. Ida was a stay at home Mom and homemaker. Julius and Ida moved to Colorado in 1985. Ida was active in the churches she attended over the years teaching Bible and Sunday school, and singing in church choirs. Ida was a member of Ambassador Baptist Church. She had served as Chaplain of the Longmont Chapter of the DAVA, and was formerly active in Stonecroft Ministries. She loved spending time with her family. She religiously walked three miles every day. She enjoyed composing letters to the editor and seeing them published in the Longmont Times Call. She had tremendous faith and was a testimony to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Ida was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, and three sisters. She is survived by a sister, Ella Haddon, of Evansville IN., her husband, Julius of Longmont, CO., daughter Vicki Ray of Longmont, Son Richy Ray of Decatur, IL., a granddaughter Joy Fitch and her husband Danny Fitch of Thornton, CO., a grandson Benjamin Schniepp, and great grandsons Gavin Schniepp and Noah Schniepp of Longmont.Visitation and viewing will be 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM, Monday Feb. 20, 2017, at Ambassador Baptist Church, 2015 3rd Ave in Longmont. Funeral service to begin at 10:30 AM, also on Monday. Interment will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, CO., at 2:00 PM, shelter A.
