Ida Lea Biederman, 104, passed from this life on November 18, 2023. Ida was born to John William Wesley Boutcher and Zolo Florence Fowler on December 14, 1918, in Wellington, Texas. After struggling to maintain the family farm during the Dust Bowl and Great Depression the Boutcher family moved to Colorado in 1935, where she would meet George Edward Biederman. They were married on June 11, 1939 and lived in the Longmont area working on numerous small farms while raising their four children. Ida became an LPN and worked at Boulder Community Hospital for many years until her retirement. Upon retirement George and Ida joined the Longmont Good Sam Club chapter who they traveled extensively with. They loved taking grandchildren camping in the Rocky Mountains. Ida had many hobbies that kept her young at heart. Ida was passionate about genealogy and traveled extensively in search of information about ancestors. She enjoyed crafts, crocheting, and painting ceramics. On May 23, 1991 her beloved husband George entered into eternal rest. Though devastated by his passing she carried on. In May of 1993, she moved into Hover Manor. Ida immediately began making friends in her new home and picked up new hobbies including painting and drawing. Ida was talented with a brush in her hand. She played pinochle with friends until late into the night. She started teaching her friends to play 42. Ida remained young well into her 90s even through battles with cancer. After surviving COVID, she moved from her apartment at Hover Manor and into Hover Green House, where she would live out the rest of her days.
Ida was preceded in death by her beloved husband George, her parents and eight siblings, and one son-in-law.
