Helen Vivian Dyer, of Brighton, Colorado, died Sunday, November 26, 2006 at Bethany Healthplex in Lakewood. She was 91 years old.Vivian, as she was known to her family and friends, was born March 29, 1915 in Hoboken, New Jersey, to James Patrick Markus, Sr. and Mary Agatha (Connelly) Markus. She graduated from St. Michael's High School in Union City, New Jersey in 1933.She had worked as a dental assistant at the practice of Dr. Walter Leo Dyer in Hoboken. They were married in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida on February 13, 1952. Dr. Dyer died in April 1955.During WWII, she was a USO volunteer. Later, as a mother, she was an active den mother and 4H supporter. She was an active participant and volunteer at each of the churches she attended. She moved to Colorado in 1971, and worked as a clerk/secretary with senior health programs in Weld County in the late 1970s.Vivian is survived by her son, Walter C. ""Wally"" Dyer of Brighton, Colorado; a cousin; and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in April 1955; and two brothers, James P. Markus, Jr., and Alexander ""Steve"" Markus.Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at Howe Mortuary, Longmont. A vigil service will follow at 7:00 p.m., led by the Reverend Don Willette. Recitation of the Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 30th at St. Theresa?s Catholic Church in Frederick with the Reverend Robert Whipkey as Celebrant. Interment will be at a later date at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Tenafly, New Jersey.Memorial donations may be made in Vivian?s honor to the charity of your choice.
