Glenn David Yoder, 76, of Broomfield, CO passed away peacefully surrounded by family, on March 26, 2021 at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born February 7, 1945 in Reistville, PA to Stella Flory Yoder and John Levi Yoder. On October 9, 1965, Glenn married Dorothy Newman in Aurora, CO.
Glenn served in the United States Air Force as an Electronics Technician on the B52 Strategic Bomber, being honorably discharged in 1967. He worked for IBM as the Director of Services, retiring in 1998.
Over the years, Glenn bought and restored vintage cars, never passing up the opportunity to go to a swap meet in search of original parts for them. His collection included ’35 Ford Coupe, ’57 T-bird, ’62 Corvette, ’65 Mustang and his first purchase after marriage – ’66 Fairlane. After retirement, he spent endless hours in the garage meticulously refurbishing parts large and small. He prided himself in being a perfectionist “do it yourselfer”. He could fix most any mechanical or electrical problem and enjoyed the challenge no matter how long it took. He was active in leadership in church and community. Prior to advancement of Parkinson’s his favorite outdoor activities were riding his motorcycle on mountain trails and skiing the slopes of Colorado. When not in the garage, he pursued the adventure of going places he had never been, traveling to many places in the United States and over a dozen countries, or constructing homemade adventures for his cherished grandchildren.
Glenn was a member of the Rocky Mountain Thunderbird Club and belonged to the Monument Community Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are his wife Dorothy Yoder, his son Michael Yoder and his wife Leslee Unruh Yoder and their son Alexander Yoder; his daughter Janice Keazer and her husband Kyle Keazer and their children Jake Keazer and Ashley Keazer. He is further survived by his brothers John Yoder, Dale Yoder and Dennis Yoder and his sisters Carol Kleinfelter, Donna Nies, Sandra Hartman, Karen Fisher, Joanna Miller and Patti Penrose. His parents, his brother Lee Yoder and his grandson Nathan Yoder preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 5, 2021 at 10:30 am at the Calvary Bible Church, Erie Complex, 615 Evans Street, Erie, CO. Visitation will be held one half hour prior to the service. A luncheon will follow the services.
The family is requesting that in lieu of flowers contributions be made in Glenn’s name to the Parkinson’s Research Foundation.
