Glenn N. Taylor of Longmont, CO died February 4, 2009 at Longmont United Hospital. He was 92.Glenn Norton Taylor was born on November 21, 1916 in Chicago, Illinois to Elmer and Esther Katherine (Carlson) Taylor. He grew up in Illinois and served in the United States Navy from 1943 to 1946. Glenn then attended the University of Illinois in Champaign. Glenn married Marion Edler in 1941 and the couple had two children, Alan and Susan. His first wife preceded him in death. Glenn later married Mary Frances (Pampe) Widinski on November 28, 1970 in Rolling Meadows, Illinois. Glenn and Mary Frances have lived in Longmont since 1982.Glenn owned his own manufacturing business and then began a career with The Kendall Company that lasted until his retirement in 1981. Glenn was a senior research scientist with the company and received 33 patents. During his career, Glenn received a total of 38 patents for different products he helped with the research and design for. In 1981 he received the President's Award for Outstanding Technical Achievement. After his retirement, Glenn worked another three years for Neomed in Gunbarrell Estates.Glenn was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was involved with the Hicks and Chicks Square Dance Club for many years and the Adam and Eve Flower Garden Club here in Longmont. He also was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Columbine Lion's Club of which he was very active in.Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his first wife, his parents, and a step grandson, Matthew Widinski.Glenn is survived by his wife of Longmont; his two children: Alan Taylor of Rockford, Michigan and Susan Taylor-Bachman of Ft. Myers, Florida; four grandchildren: David (Marlee) Taylor of CA, Steve Taylor of NV, Michelle Bachman of TN, and Michael Bachman of FL; six great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. He is also survived by his stepchildren: Paul (Suzan) Widinski and family, William (Christine) Widinski and family, Christine (David) Fritschel and family, Anthony and Edward Widinski.Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Howe Mortuary and Cremation Services of Longmont. The family plans private services at a later time with inurnment in Cary, Illinois.Memorials may be given to Little City Foundation, P. O.
