Georgene "Jeannie" Lee Andeway

Growing up, Jeannie’s family moved frequently, visiting Baltimore, MD and Kansas City, MO before settling in La Grange, IL. She graduated from Lyons Township High School and would go on to earn her nursing degree from Morton College. After college, Jeannie became a pediatric nurse. Jeannie went on to receive a B.A. later in life.

In 1975, she married Terry Andeway in Chicago, IL. They lived there for many years until deciding to move to Erie, CO in 1999. Jeannie and Terry were married for 33 years before his passing in 2008. After Terry’s passing Jeannie moved to Longmont, CO in 2011 where she joined First Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Jeannie loved to take many family vacations to Colorado to ski, camp, swim, and hike. The mountains were one of her favorite features of Colorado. She also loved to read and was a part of the Hicks & Chicks Square Dance Club. Jeannie was known as a very kind and loving person, who always went out of her way to help others.

Jeannie is preceded in death by her husband Terry Andeway, as well as her father George Genz. She is survived by her mother Geneva of Palm Coast, FL; her brother Greg Genz of Fox Lake, IL; her sons Mike Andeway of Keystone, CO, and Jim (Jen) Andeway of Chanhassen, MN; as well as her grandchildren Arianna, Mackenzie, and Zoie.

A memorial service for Jeannie will be held Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at 11:00 AM at First Evangelical Lutheran Church. Please join the family for a reception at the American Legion immediately following the service.
