Gay Hope Fenimore, 49, passed away Saturday, September 24, 2016 at the University of Utah Hospital surrounded by her 3 children. She was born January 13, 1967 to Phil Stonebraker and Faith Stonebraker in Longmont, CO.
She attended Lyons High School where she played on the volleyball team and was an active member in student council. She graduated in 1985 and went on to school at the University of Northern Colorado (1985-86), Colorado State University (1986-88) and then Pueblo Community College for Dental Hygiene School (1988-90). She later went on to finish her Bachelors Degree in psychology in 2007. Hope worked as a dental hygienist for 26 years. During those years she also started a balloon business, performed as a clown and became a real estate agent.
Hope’s passion was her children. She was a loving and devoted mother and there was nothing she would not do for them. When she was not working as a hygienist or with her children you could find Hope participating in a wide variety of activities. Whether it was hiking 14ers, mountain biking, golfing, playing with her dogs, running, practicing yoga, or just catching up with friends, Hope was always doing something. Hope was also a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Beta Gamma Chapter and P.E.O. Chapter FD.
She is survived by her three children Ryan, Bailey and Marcus; mother Faith; brothers Tom, Jack (Vicki) and Chris (Dorris); three dogs, Scooter, Lola and Duke; as well as many nieces and nephews and an extensive network of friends. She was preceded in death by her father, A. Phil Stonebraker
Hope was a blessing to those who knew her. Her smile could light up a room and her laugh was truly contagious. The world is a better place after having her on it. Friends, family, and anyone who was impacted by Hope are invited to celebrate her life with us. Her service will take place at 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Howe Mortuary in Longmont, CO.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make a contribution to the Longmont Humane Society or the cause of your choice.
