Freida was born on July 11,1947 to Fred Moyer and Marguerite Eva Foulks in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She grew up in Oklahoma City, graduated from Capitol Hill High School, and attended some college before joining the Internal Revenue Service where she served as an Auditor. Frieda transferred to Colorado in 1976. She retired from the IRS at 33 to be a housewife and stay-at-home mom.
Frieda married Felix Soto in 1980 and was widowed March 30, 2016. They moved to Erie from Lafayette, Colorado in 1990. Freida and Felix were active members of Erie Bible Baptist Church. Freida became co-chair of the Bible Baptist Food Bank after Felix passed, and it was truly one of her favorite commitments. She enjoyed not only the other volunteers, but the many people that were helped through this ministry.
Her other activities included spending time with her family, making cards and jewelry, and doing cross stitch. She was happiest whenever she got the chance to spend time with any of her ‘grands’. She even had the opportunity to take care of a friend’s grandson for a day. For such times as she got to have the grandkids over, she had plenty of toys and games for them to play with, and if all else failed, she had a dog who loved her and tolerated the children.
Freida leaves behind a beautiful legacy and is survived by her daughter Michelle Reni Trujillo; step-sons Felix Tony Soto and Victor Ruben Soto; grandchildren, Nathan George, aka Nathan George Trujillo, Shelby Reni Trujillo, Vittorio Soto, Vionna Soto, Ventura Soto, Tomas Soto, Victor Soto, Erica Soto, and Shelby Soto; eighteen Great-Grandchildren and two Great-Great-Grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Margie Moyer Straight of Bellaire, Texas, as well as a few cousins and many friends whom she dearly loved. Frieda was preceded in death by her parents, and by her husband.
A Memorial Service was held for Frieda on Friday, November 4, 2022 at Bible Baptist Church of Erie in Erie, Colorado. A Visitation will take place Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel in Longmont, Colorado. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her memory to the Bible Baptist Food Bank of Erie. Freida will be laid to rest with her husband, Felix, at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy are welcome at www.ahlbergfuneralchapel.com.
