Esther Olinda Cook

COOK, Esther Olinda, 88, of Frederick, died July 11, 2010 at Peaks Care Center. She was born on February 23, 1922 in Rinn, Colorado the daughter of Jacob and Amelia (Achziger) Maul. She married Samuel J. Cook in November 18, 1943 in Berthoud, Colorado. The couple made their home in rural Frederick for many years. Esther was a hard worker. She lived on a small acreage, there she tended her garden, many flowers, and took care of the farm animals they had. She canned and froze all the produce from the garden and fruit trees.She was preceded in death by her husband in 2008, her parents , two brothers, and one sister. Survivors include her son Dr. Glenn (Gayle) Cook, Fort Lupton, CO and her daughter Karen (Gerry) Miller, Firestone, CO.; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; her sisters Emma Lesser, Maria Sternenberger, Marie Ehrlick, her half sister Betty Brogdon and many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at the Howe Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Jim Adams officiating. Cremation has been entrusted to Howe Mortuary and Cremation Service. Contributions in Esther's memory may be made to Halcyon Hospice, PO Box 177,Mead, CO 80542.
