Eric Anthony Risedorf

Eric was born May 6, 1969, in Lexington, Kentucky, the son of William F. and Sharon L. (O’Donnell) Risedorf. Eric graduated from Niwot High School, Longmont, Colorado Class of 1988. Following graduation, he held various careers in construction, leading him to own both hardwood flooring and construction companies. Eric was also a correctional officer in both Arizona and Colorado. He left his correctional officer career to become a heavy equipment operator with the city of Thornton, Colorado in the Streets Department. He dedicated his time to keeping drivers in the City safe for over 15 years before moving to Clarkesville, Tennessee to fulfill his wish of eventually retiring where it was peaceful and warm, and where country music is king. In Tennessee, Eric founded Risers Motorcycle Rescue and Transport business, where he helped stranded riders get home safely. Eric also joined American Legion Post 233 in Kentucky as a Sons of the American Legion (SAL) member and a Legion Rider.

Eric enjoyed so many things, and he was a jack of all trades. However, his family was the most important thing to him. He met his wife, Shanna Mizer, as an arrangement set up by family and friends Thanksgiving, 2004. They married in July, 2006, and over the last 18 years together they raised three wonderful children. As devoted husband and father, he enjoyed cooking (making every recipe his own) using his wood crafting skills to create a peaceful and beautiful home, creative welding, building custom hot rods, riding his Harley, singing karaoke while drinking a Budweiser, and looking just like Alan Jackson! Eric was also a kid at heart, loving Star Wars, Marvel, Nascar, Football, and old school TV shows. There was always love and laughter whenever Eric was around, he filled the room with his witty personality making jokes, telling stories, and creating drawings and cartoons. If you were a friend of Eric’s, you were considered family to him.

He is predeceased by his father William F. Risedorf, as well as both Maternal and Paternal grandparents. He is survived by his wife, Shanna, his children including daughter Brittany (Mother Monica) in Arizona, daughter Ashley and son Benjamin both in Tennessee. In addition to his wife and children, he is survived by his mother, Sharon Risedorf of Colorado, brother Gregory Risedorf (Tammy) of Texas and brother Douglas Risedorf of Colorado, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Eric’s service will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 323 Collyer Street, Longmont, Colorado 80501 on Wednesday, September 28th 2022 at 10:30am Following will be a celebration of life at American Legion Post 32, 315 S. Bowen Street, Longmont, Colorado 80501. The Legion Riders will lead the procession to Mountain View Cemetery in Longmont at 2pm, where Eric will be laid to rest.
