August 13, 2024. Eileen who was known to everyone as "Doris", will be remembered for her deep love
of our Lord and her prayers for everyone in need. She was very kind, loving and caring, and had a
generous heart for her love of children and animals.
Doris is preceded in death and reunited with her husband Alfred of 38 years, her son Alfred Jr. and her
parents Eileen and Marcelino Dungao.
She is survived by her son Andrew, her sister Marci Halvorsen, her three children Alpha (Christina)
Halvorsen, sons Walter and Eric (Mother Stella Halvorsen). Delta (Robert) Gallo, and three children
Emily Stillwell, Samantha and Bodhi Halvorsen, and daughter Omega Halvorsen.
Also, brothers in law Lawrence Trogani (Phyllis), Joseph (Victoria), and sisters in law Florence Cafro,
Claire Trogani and Marie Trogani. Along with the many friends Doris made throughout her life, she
loved having an exceptionally large extended family of numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces
and nephews.
Born in North Jersey, she lived there until after her marriage when she began her family in West New Jersey. After her boys were grown, Doris and Al decided it was too cold in New Jersey so they decided to go to the extreme end of the climate and moved to sunny Arizona, when Doris finally moved to Colorado.
In her younger years Doris enjoyed bowling on a league with close family and friends. She was an avid baker and was well known for her Christmas Cookies. She had an infectious laugh and kind spirit. She somehow always found time to read and had a vast collection of books from which to choose. Something she shared with her boys was to have the love of reading and learning. In addition to becoming a new mother, she found a new love of sewing and sewed many outfits for herself and family, shown in family photos.
When the boys were older and she now had more free time, she wanted to return to work, but computers had come into play. She realized she had to educate herself, so to further her education she attended Burlington County College and took on learning computers, then worked at the church office. She now was very proud of the one thing she had always dreamed of for many years, going to college and having a diploma in hand.
Donations may be made in honor of Doris' Memory to St Jude Children's Hospital and the National ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). These were the two Charities that Doris was passionate about the most, helping children and animals.
Our heartfelt thanks to the staff at Longmont United Hospital and the Hospice Unit that cared for Doris to
make her comfortable in her final days.
A Celebration of Life will take place in the near future and Doris will be laid to rest finally with Al in Arizona.
