Edward A. Schmidt

Ed Schmidt, of Longmont, CO, passed away January 24th, 2018 due to complications from pancreatic cancer. Ed was born in San Diego, CA. He lived in California, Arizona, Kansas; finally moving to Colorado in 1971. He graduated from Fairview High School in 1977 and remained in Boulder most of his life. Ed worked as an Electronics Technician and spent 15 years at StorageTek. He also worked at Sheldahl, Ascent Solar and Bancsource. Ed was an avid motorcyclist and enjoyed Enduros, ice racing and touring. On one motorcycle trip Ed went from Colorado to Florida to California and back. Ed's hobbies included photography, history, and tinkering.He is survived by his girlfriend Lee Koch, mother Joyce Schmidt, sister Kathy Schmidt, nephew Christopher Kleinfieldt, sister Susan Kohuth (Steven), nieces Madeleine and Ella Kohuth, and sister in-law Tami Keller Schmidt. He was preceded in death by his brother John and father Allen. A memorial service will be at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 3485 Stanford Court, Boulder, CO 80305 on Sunday February 11th, 2018 at 2:00 pm.
