Edward (Bud) Leroy Minch, was born on April 5, 1935 to John and Katherine (Eisenoch) Minch. Surrounded by his family, he passed away peacefully on August 14, 2016 in his home near Highlandlake, Colorado. He was born in the farm house where resided with his parents and two brothers and attended Mead schools where he loved playing marbles as a child. Bud farmed with his Dad and as a young adult took over the farming. Never being one to venture too far from home, he later moved up the road to the other side of the farm. In his early years you could find him with friends and family bowling and fishing.
He married in 1956 and had three children and was later divorced. He married Diana Grisham who had two daughters of her own. Bud loved his scratch tickets, going to Black Hawk, a good BBQ with family and friends and watching sports- especially the Broncos games. One of his favorite activities was playing basketball with his grandkids.
Bud is survived by his wife, Diana Minch of Highlandlake; brother, John Minch of Longmont; children, Cindy (Bob) Lutz, Eddy Minch (Teresa Keller), Carey (Kirk) Harris and Carla Elliott all who reside near Mead. Bud was blessed with 16 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Bud was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Vernon Minch and a daughter, Elizabeth Roth.
On Friday, August 19, 2016, Bud will be laid to rest. Viewing will take place at the Historical Highlandlake Church from 12pm until 2pm. The funeral service will take place immediately following at 2pm. Interment will take place at the Highlandlake Pioneer Cemetery. Please join the family for a Potluck Reception in Mead Community Center/Town Hall located in the park in Mead.
