Don was born July 30, 1934 in Bogue, KS to Harvey and Zelma (Eichmann) Conyac. He attended and graduated from Norton High School. He joined the Army in 1954 and was stationed in Germany. After being honorably discharged from the Army 1956, he went to work for Capp Homes as a framer and homebuilder. Don moved to Colorado in 1959. He made his home in Longmont for the past 50 years. In 1962 he went to work for Rocky Flats where he would retire in 1991 as a Captain in the Fire Department.
Don married Betty Kindred on February 10, 1962 and together, they would raise four children. Don enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting and was a true outdoorsman. After his retirement, he and Betty became snowbirds, taking their RV to Texas and Arizona for the winter.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Jane Collier and Geri Edmonds and his great grandson Henry Fehr. He is survived by his wife, Betty, of 61 years; three daughters Cheryl (Greg) Fehr, Joan (Butch) Middleton, Patty Conyac; one son Don (Jennifer) Conyac, Jr.; eight grandchildren Aaron Fehr, Adam Fehr, Jeremy Davis, Jennifer Camp, Stephanie Enholm, Donny Conyac III, Bobby Bussell and Brittany Bellinghausen; eight great grandchildren; brothers, Joe and Claude Conyac, sisters, Virginia Kiltau, Adelene Keeler and Diana Standifer.
No public services will be held.
