Despite being born in Oak Park, Illinois, Diana spent most of her childhood and into her adulthood in North Dakota. She met the love of her life, Curtis, and they were married on December 18, 1976. In October 1978, they moved with 3 of their kids to Colorado, and Colorado would remain the place they call home.
Diana’s other name throughout her life was Nana, which she was called by her family and those she considered family. Nana had a way of impacting the lives of everyone around her, and becoming their best friend or adopting them into her family and into her heart. Her favorite place to be was spending time with family, whether it was cuddling with grandbabies or great-grandbabies, laughing until she was crying playing games, or sharing a meal of her famous Mac n’ Cheese or biscuits and gravy. She had the best laugh and was not shy about hiding it. She was a stranger to no one and could strike up a conversation with anyone that she crossed paths with, putting a smile on their face. Outside of her love for her family, Nana loved tending to her beautiful garden, keeping her house impeccably clean, watching the Denver Nuggets, and dancing to music, especially Elvis Presley.
The mark Diana left on the hearts of those she loved will never be forgotten and she will be missed immensely. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Curtis, their children Barb (Robert), Julie, Lisa (Darrin), Annette (Jon), and Troy (Jackie), 10 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and many more family and friends she called family. She is joining many loved ones in Heaven.
There will be a celebration of life for Diana for close family and friends. Please contact the daughters for more information.
