Diana was born the 4th child of nine, the first daughter to survive childbirth. She grew up in a large Irish Catholic family, enjoying the time she spent with Aunts, Uncles, and countless cousins. In 1974 she graduated from Menlo – Atherton High School and went on to Cañada College in Redwood City, where she majored in Police Science and minored in Dance. Additionally, she studied accountancy at Attending Penn Foster.
Diana held many different jobs throughout her life, from teaching ballroom dancing, to working as a police officer, and working at NASA, all in California. For 20+ years Diana was also a foster parent, taking care of children in several counties in California. She would eventually become the mom of three children – Rosie, Danny, and Jackie.
After moving to Colorado in 2011, she worked at Longs Peak Church, Logitech, and Boulder County. One of the things she always looked forward to was attending the Interfaith Quilters Guild, from which she made many lifelong friends. Diana also enjoyed quilting competitions, tie dyeing, and dancing (especially dancing to embarrass her kids).
Diana is survived by her son Daniel Heins; daughters Rosalie Heins and Jacquelyn Clark, and her granddaughter Danielle Heins Bingham Hawk. Services will be held at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel on Friday December 8th, 2023 at 2:00pm.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.ahlbergfuneralchapel.com for the Heins family.
