David was born in Longmont, CO on January 29, 1957 to Thomas Dan Villani and Dora Rossetti Villani.
David was raised in Frederick, graduating from Longmont High School in 1975. He was on the football team and wrestling teams for the Trojans. Following high school, he was offered a football scholarship to Western State College, Gunnison, Colorado. He was on two teams which won the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and twice played in the play-offs; losing in the finals one of those years.
David married Denise Guidroz on October 11, 1980 in Las Vegas, Neveda. They were later divorced.
He entered the Police force and was with the City of Arvada and active in the canine unit. In addition, he worked for the Adams County District Attorney’s Office, the Denver DEA, and numerous jobs and companies with the tele-communications arena, and as a para-legal.
Preceding him in death was his father. Surviving are his three daughters Amber (Jesse) Newberry of Monument, CO Danielle (Travis) Richter of LaJunta, CO, and Tera Villani of Thornton, CO his mother of Frederick; two sisters Florence (Larry) Dufour of Frederick and Linda (Tony) Fiest of Cherry Hills Village; and a brother Tom (Sally) Villani of Longmont. He is further survived by four grandchildren: David Joseph Newberry, Asher James Newberry, Isabella Villani Newberry and Ryland Brantley Richter and his former wife Denise Guidroz-McSheehy of Westminster, CO.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Howe Mortuary in Longmont.
A Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 31, followed at 10:30 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial both at St. Theresa Catholic Church, Frederick, with Reverend Hernan Flores officiating.
Interment will follow at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery.
