David Bruce Kelly

David Bruce Kelly was born on June 22, 1958, in Gloversville, Upstate New York, raised by Robert Hess Doseff and Margaret Grace Nightingale. He passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2024 at the age of 66.

While David was born in New York, when he was two years old his family decided to move to Brea, CA. Once settled, his family stayed in California for many years, with David attending Elementary, Middle, and High School in Brea. After graduating from Brea Olinda High School, David headed south to Fullerton, CA where he attended College, and graduated with an Associate’s Degree. In 1992, David decided to move to Lyons, CO from Ontario, CA.

Besides his longtime job as a manager at UPS, David spent a lot of his years devoted to baseball - playing all throughout high school and then playing for the AA Pittsburgh Pirates after college. He enjoyed baseball so much that he coached both the baseball and softball youth of Lyons as well as his own children when he had time to after work. David also loved to fish with his friends and family. Living next to the river in Lyons made teaching his children to fish one of his favorite pastimes. On top of his many talents, David was additionally an incredible sketch artist. He was a loving son to his mother Margaret, whom he took care of

for many years.

David was the light of the room and had the best sense of humor. He always made sure, no matter what, that everyone he was around was happy and laughing. If anything, what made him the most happy was to have all of his kids together and laughing.

David is preceded in death by his father Robert; he is survived by his four children Garrett, Karson, Dawson, and Kashlin Kelly; his mother Margaret, as well as his brother Michael Kelly. A celebration of life for David will be held Saturday, October 5, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at LaVern Johnson Park, 600 Park Dr, Lyons, CO 80540.
