Darrell Bennet

Darrell Bennet, 57, of Longmont, Colorado passed away February 13, 2020. Darrell was born December 27, 1962 in Sterling, Colorado to Kathryn (Weaver) and Lee Bennet. He was the youngest of three boys, and was raised in Englewood. After high school, he went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, with a minor in Finance, from Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado.On August 14, 1993, Darrell married Carol Steinhoff, and they eventually moved to Longmont in 2004, working at Hobby Lobby. In 2008 he transitioned to King Soopers and built many close friendships along the way. He was working at Smucker's at the time of his passing.Darrell was an eternal optimist and quick-witted. He was always a comedian, and brought laughter to those around him. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Darrell is survived by his wife, Carol Bennet; son, Garrison Bennet; mother, Kathryn Bennet; brothers, Brian Bennet, and Larry Bennet; and many other extended family members who meant so much to Darrell. He was preceded in death by his father, Lee Bennet.A memorial service to celebrate Darrell's life will be held at Longs Peak United Methodist Church, 1421 Elmhurst Drive, Longmont, Colorado 80503 on Monday March 9th at 10am with a luncheon after. All who knew Darrell are welcome to come.
