Christopher Chris Bean

Chris was born October 28, 1961 in Fort Riley, Kansas the son of Robert and Jennifer Bean. At the age of 4 his family moved to Longmont. Chris graduated from Longmont High School in 1980, lettering in baseball. He later lived and worked in Tucson, Arizona and Las Vegas, Nevada and returned to Longmont in 1992.

Chris loved his family and the time they spent together during holidays, birthdays, and camping trips. He played softball competitively and on a family co-ed team. He loved watching sports and was an avid Rockies, Broncos, Avalanche, and Nascar fan. He enjoyed camping, fishing, water skiing, snow skiing, four wheeling, hiking and his dog Tyson.

Chris worked for Great Northern Dry Wall where he was known as a piecework expert in commercial drywall. He was named employee of the year 1997-1998 and earned many other awards in his career.

He will be remembered as a loving, caring, forgiving, sentimental man with a great sense of humor. But most of all he will be remembered as “a man with a big heart”!

Surviving Chris are his parents, his son Christopher “Kyle” Bean of Longmont, his daughter Sarah Osborn and husband Brian of Aurora, CO, his brother Curt Bean and wife Tonya of Kennewick, WA, sisters Cathy Stenson and husband Mark, Carrie Angstead and husband Ron and Celeste Miller all of Longmont. His twin grandchildren Evan Taylor and Natalie Brooke Osborn, and eight nephews; Tyson and Taylor Stenson, Casey, Garret, and Josh Angstead, Bryce and Brady Bean, and Logan Miller.

Chris was preceded in death by his 7 year-old son, Brian in 1996.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 17 from 4:00 until 5:00 p.m. at Howe Mortuary, followed at 5:00 p.m. by a Celebration of Chris’ life.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 18, 2011 at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery. Following the mass lunch will be served in St. John’s Benedict Hall.
