Bryce Gordon Wilson passed away at his home in Longmont, Colorado on September 21, 2021. He was born in Logan, Utah on February 16, 1965 to Gordon and Deanna Wilson. They moved to Boulder, Colorado shortly afterwards where they would live for about 7 years before moving to Longmont where he grew up with his brothers. He later lived in Provo, Utah, New York City, and Arvada and Aurora, Colorado.
Bryce graduated from Skyline High School in Longmont in 1983 and attended Brigham Young University and the University of Colorado-Denver where he studied mechanical engineering. He later worked at Storage Tek/Sun Microsystems and most recently as a Software Developer/Training and Tech Support Manager for Asurio Inc. His work allowed him to travel across the United States as well as to Europe.
He enjoyed a variety of outdoor activities, including boating, camping, fishing, hunting, and backpacking.
His #1 favorite place to recreate was Lake Powell, Utah where he spent many summers with family and friends, fishing for stripers and exploring beautiful canyons and bays of the lake. In addition, Bryce made many multi-day backpacking trips with his brothers and friends, particularly to Colorado’s Rawah Wilderness Area, which was another of his favorite places to hike and fish. Bryce went hunting almost every season that he could in northwest Colorado and the eastern plains, again using those good days to strengthen the ties that bound him to his brothers and close friends.
A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Bryce served in several callings, including as a full-time missionary to the New York, New York City Mission, where he influenced many people for good and made close friends with whom he remained in contact throughout his life.
Bryce was preceded in passing by his father Gordon in 2019 and is survived by his mother Deanna, brothers Lee (Shelly), Chris, and Eric (Merrybeth). He loved his nieces and nephews, Cassandra and Lisa, Keith, Ellery, and Eric John, very much and fondly spoiled them as much as he could as an uncle. Bryce also loved and enjoyed the closeness of his extended family, including his grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins and endeavored to attend every family reunion that he could, reciprocating the love they all showed for him.
A viewing for Bryce will be held at 8:30 am, followed by a funeral service at 10 am, Tuesday October 5, 2021 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1721 Red Cloud Road in Longmont.
A funeral service will also be held on October 7, at 9:30 am at the Nelson Funeral Home, 162 E 400 N, Logan, UT. Interment will be at Logan City Cemetery.
