Brian Glenn Gamble

Brian Glenn Gamble of Longmont passed peacefully the morning of February 11 at Saint Anthony’s Hospital in Lakewood following a cardiac arrest earlier in the week. He is preceded in death by his older brother Kevin Gamble (1963) and his parents Glenn Gamble (1991) and Mildred Gamble (2008); and survived by his wife Gaylene Gamble of Longmont; his son and daughter-in-law Aleksandr and Jill Coffman Gamble of Carterville, GA; his son Nathanial Gamble of Longmont; and his brother and sister-in-law Daniel and Paula Gamble of Loveland, CO.

Brian was born in Marquette, Michigan, in 1957, the second son of Glenn & Mildred Gamble. Following the death of his older brother Kevin, the family moved to Longmont, CO in 1966 and Brian attended Spangler and Central Elementary Schools, Longs Peak Junior High, and Longmont High School, where he was active in debate and band, and was awarded the Outstanding Jazz Musician in Rhythm Aires in 1975, his senior year.

Following classes at both the University of Colorado-Boulder and Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Brian enlisted in the US Navy in 1977 where he became an Air Traffic Controller, first stationed at Naval Air Station Bermuda and then on the USS America aircraft carrier. During that time he married Gaylene Wolski, also of Longmont, and after his time in the Navy they lived briefly in Champaign, IL and then returned to Longmont. Brian worked as an Air Traffic Controller for the FAA for 25 years, mostly at the Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport (formerly Jeffco Airport) in Broomfield. His interests included astronomy, military history, his family, and his Faith. Brian was Congregational President and an elder for the Restoration Messianic Fellowship in Gunbarrel.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, February 16 at 9:30 AM at the Harvest Baptist Church at 7493 Old Mill Trail, Boulder, CO 80301, followed by burial at 12:00 noon at the Foothills Gardens of Memory north of Longmont on US-287.
