Bonnie Aona passed away February 28th, 2017 at 68 years old.She was born on July 28, 1948 in Alhambra, CA to Gerald W. and Mary June (Stastny) Clinebell. She graduated from Kennewick High School in Washington, and received a B.A. in Literature/Journalism from Warner Pacific College.Bonnie felt a close connection to God, which led her to explore her faith and help others at the Dutch branch of L'Abri Fellowship International. She returned from Holland to become part of the esteemed Kaleikoa Aona family, reveling in the beauty and traditions of the Hawaiian Islands while establishing enduring friendships there.In 1977, Bonnie pursued graduate studies in EE/Computer Science at UC Davis, before relocating to Boulder, CO to apply her technical talents at Precision Visuals, StorageTek and McKesson. Her career culminated at Intel Corporation, where from 2004 until her celebrated retirement in 2016, Bonnie made significant contributions, becoming known for her dedication, process improvement and training/documentation skills.Bonnie continuously exercised her passion for writing via personal essays, active participation in the Annual Boulder Projects Retreat (since 2012) and in an innovative Momentum Class, and publication of her first comic geek novel in 2016. Bonnie enjoyed nature hikes, bicycling, belly dancing, weaving and singing soaring soprano in the annual Boulder Messiah sing-along. She doted on her cats, Maile, Meadow and Carmella.She was preceded in death by her father, Gerald, and her beloved brother, Vern Bucky Clinebell. She is survived by her mother, June. A memorial service will be held at 2pm Monday, March 13th, 2017 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel, Longmont, CO, reception to follow.
