Ben grew up in Boulder, Colorado after moving from San Diego at the age of 6. . He attended Boulder High school and then moved to Longmont, Colorado, where he would begin his career in the water industry. He worked for Lefthand Water District for a few years, then went on to fill the rest of his working days as a ditch rider, at Highland ditch company and then finished out his career with the Supply Ditch company. He truly enjoyed being a ditch rider and making friends with all the farmers and people along his ditch. Everywhere he went he seemed to make friends. Ben was a compassionate, loving and kind-hearted father, that enjoyed spending time with his family, barbecuing with friends and family was one of his favorite pastimes. He also liked to water ski, golfing, taking an occasional scuba diving expedition and also shooting and collecting a few guns.
His biggest passion by far, was the Lord Jesus Christ. He spent most of his spare time in studying or witnessing to anyone he spent time with. His love for God was unmistakable and undeniable. He brought so many of his family and friends to the salvation of the Lord. So even though our hearts are heavy here as we say goodbye, we know that he finally got to go to his eternal home.
He is preceded in death by his father, Donald B. Armstead, mother , Nancy A. Simmons and sister, Bonnie Armstead.
His celebration of life will be announced at a future date
