Ann Marie Seidel, 87, longtime resident of Williamsport, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2017, at Exempla Colorado Lutheran Home in Arvada, Colorado, where she had lived since 2015.Ann was born at Williamsport Hospital on October 27, 1929 to Fred and Mary Goldy. She attended Williamsport public schools and later was involved in the literacy programs at James V. Brown Library and the Women's State Correctional Institution at Muncy. Ann was also a volunteer at the Williamsport Hospital surgery center, where she cheerfully assisted patients with any number of needs. As a devoted animal lover, Ann raised three amazing dogs over the course of her life: Pepsi, Muffin, and Pepper. But it was in her role as a mother to her four children and grandmother to her seven grandchildren for which she will always be fondly remembered. It was said of Ann by her friends and loved ones that she was born to be a mom, and she certainly embraced that responsibility and privilege with fierceness, determination, and a spirit of unbounded generosity and compassion. She was a profound example to all of a mother whose unconditional love knew no limits. Ann's life was a testament to the old adage that, in the end, the only thing that really matters is how deeply we have loved and been loved. Her infectious laugh and gentle smile will be greatly missed by all who knew her.Ann was predeceased by her daughter, Cindy R. R sgen, and is survived by her son, J. Scott Reed, of Williamsport; her daughter and son-in-law, Melissa S. Black and Michael F. Drummy, of Longmont, Colorado; her son, Steven D. Reed, of Hagerstown, Maryland; and her seven beloved grandchildren. No services will be held. Contributions in Ann's name can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
