Frank Michael Borelli passed away on May 21, 2015. He was born October 2, 1923, and was a long-time resident of the city he loved, San Pedro, CA. Dad was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, uncle, and godfather. He was also a banker, a walking European history encyclopedia, an avid reader of the Wall Street Journal, a traveler, gardener, farmer, plumber, house painter and all around DIY-guy (long before HGTV). He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Janice Marie Borelli, his only daughter, Catherine “Trina” Borelli, his brother James Borelli Sr; and nieces and nephews : Michael (Sharon) Cress, James (Susan) Borelli Jr, Shirley (David) Sanderson, Eugene (Kathryn) Lunetta, Diane (Lon) Handelsman and numerous grand nieces and nephews. He is also survived by cousins Josephine Mainkranz and Kathryn (Michael) Capanna. He was preceded in death by his parents Angelo and Connie Fortino Borelli (of Reggio and Cosenza Italy) and his sisters Teresa (Geno) Sega and Jessie (Alex) Lunetta. Born in Blende, CO, one of seven children, Frank attended Pleasantview School before the family moved to California in 1936. The family settled in Lincoln Heights and Frank attended Lincoln High School. A WWII veteran, he was inducted on Dec 28, 1942 and honorably discharged on Feb 23, 1946. In 1947, Frank began his lifetime career with Bank of America. He worked at 4th and Spring, Santa Fe Springs, Corporate, Wilmington and San Pedro branches. He retired from branch work in 1979 as Vice President and Manager of San Pedro Main Office. Later, he rejoined B of A as a Private Banker, located on Silver Spur Road in Rolling Hills Estates, CA, where he retired in 1986. Dad was an active member of the San Pedro Elks Lodge and the Garibaldina M.B. Society. He was a 15 year volunteer at Little Sisters of the Poor in San Pedro, CA. Funeral mass and interment will be Thursday, May 28th, at 1:00PM, at All Souls Mortuary and Cemetery, 4400 Cherry Ave., Long Beach, CA 90807.
