Barbara Joyce Summers

Barbara Joyce Summers, 84, of Long Beach, CA, passed away on October 1, 2013. She was born to the late Myrl and Ione Hurley, December 7, 1928, in Long Beach, CA. She graduated from Long Beach Wilson High School in 1945, married the late Jess Summers in 1948, and continued to reside in the Long Beach area thereafter. Known to family and friends as Joyce, she was a longtime employee of the Bellflower Unified School District. She loved spending time with family, being involved with equestrian organizations and traveling. Joyce is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Karen Summers, of Tuscany Hills, CA; son Gary Summers of Long Beach; son Greg Summers of Lake Fork, ID; son Dennis Summers of Santa Fe Springs; and son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Heather Summers of Long Beach.
