RATH, William James - Passed away peacefully at University Hospital on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 in his 88th year. Beloved husband of Shirley Doris Smith Labelle Rath. Survived by his only child Paul Rath and his wife Heather and his grandsons Matthew and Alan. Bill was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Bill joined the Royal Canadian Navy and served in the HMS Newfoundland and HMCS Uganda as a first class stoker. In his career he worked on the CNR Railroad - Stratford and then at General Motors Diesel - London. He will be truly missed by all the Labelle family including Nancy and Roger, Brian and Marlene, Kevin and Jan, Karen and Pat and Rick and Wanda. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren and nieces and nephews who loved Grandpa Bill. He is also predeceased by Beatrice Adoline Rath (2001) from Stratford (1st wife). Survived by his sister Audrey May Beltz and her family. Cremation has taken place. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the London Food Bank. The Memorial Service and the celebration of the life of William James Rath will be held at Royal Canadian Legion, Victory Branch #317 (311 Oakland Ave, London) on Sunday May 5, 2013 from 1-4 pm in the upstairs room.12358359
