It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we wish a peaceful end to the life of dear Husband, Brother, Father, and Friend, Terrence (Terry) David Johnson. He was born in Manitouwadge, Ontario on September 26, 1961 to David (Dave) & Martha Johnson (nee Maye & Mosher). After a few years there, in California & Toronto, he was raised mostly in Haileybury, Ontario where he first met the Love of his Life -- Sandra Cole -- who he married years later and became the Dad/Step-Dad to her 2 sons Joseph (Joe) and Isaiah Gibson. He loved them all dearly including his daughter-in-law Peta-Ann and three precious grandchildren - Elena (8), Lucas (5) & Emilia (2). Terry was a loving uncle, although close in age to his three relatives Harold (Hal), Shane & Jodi, they grew up more like cousins. They all loved him dearly and are very sad that he has left us so young.
Over the past several years Terry spent a lot of time with his family together - spending the winters in Corozal, Belize and two in Osoyoos, B.C. when cross-border travel was restricted. Close family and friends have always helped teach & guide both Terry and Sandra and have shared wonderful times together doing activities like singing & dancing at Karaoke, Bingo times, cruises, road trips to Florida, etc. Over the years -- especially the last few -- we are happy to have made so many wonderful memories that we will now cherish. Terry also had family and went on trips to the east coast (N.S., P.E.I and even Newfoundland) to visit relatives on his Mom's side.
Over the years he worked in London at Lamko Tool & Mold Co., Abouttown Transportation, Stock & Lang's as a bus driver and then assistant on school buses for handicapped children -- where he was able to help many children and their families to understand them. He was the most lovable person who would not hurt anyone and loved to travel by car & plane, all sports events (especially baseball & hockey), driving on road trips and going where it is warm (Florida & Belize) in winter. He loved Canada and helping other people. He volunteered at the Okanagan Gleaners & Food Bank in Osoyoos, B.C. as well as the CAP animal program in Belize. He frequently went to the Boys & Girls Club & Ark Aid Mission in London.
Terry was a very caring person, kind & gentle, helpful whenever he could, generous & loving. But suffered a lot of anxiety over family issues and anything he couldn't correct or change. He loved all his family very much - especially his wife Sandra and step sons Joe, Isaiah & Peta, his 3 precious grandchildren and his sister, Sharon. Also all family and all his Johnson relatives too.
Sadly we lost him on Mother's Day at his summer home -- his trailer in Birch Pine Park at Ipperwash Beach. He was such a kind, gentle, caring, helpful, and lovable person and will be missed by many people. Please help us to celebrate his life either in Person or online at Needham Funeral Home in London, On. on Fri. May 24, 2024 ❤️🙏❤️
Services for Terry will be held on Friday, May 24th, 2024 at Needham Funeral Service 520 Dundas St, London, ON N6B 1W6. Visitation will begin at 12 PM noon before a funeral service in the Needham's chapel at 2 PM. Live webcast of the service may be watched at https://fweb.tv/129411
