KNIBUTAT, Otto – It is with great sadness that Otto was taken from us suddenly at home, in his 80th year. Otto leaves behind his loving wife, Audrey (Chaikowsky), sons Kristian (Anita) and Darren (Caroline). Endearing grand father/grand dad/grandpa to Luke, Spencer, August, Carly, Jocelyn, Sydney and Morgan. Otto is survived by his sisters Emma (Henry Popp dec.) and Helga (Robert Elford). He often spoke of his good fortune, starting life in pre-war Lithuania, living in displaced persons camps throughout Europe during the war and the role the Red-Cross played in re-uniting his family to start a new life in Canada at the age of 13. To the end, Otto continued to enjoy life, anticipating an upcoming family ski trip, golf season and fine cognac. Personal relationships and hard work were keys to his personal and professional success as he advanced from the purchasing department, through mechanical estimating and finally to an executive position at Comstock Construction, retiring 15 years ago. Afterward, he continued to be active with consulting work, adding to his repertoire of stories about the jobs he was involved with but, more importantly, the people he had come to know. While his passing brings great sadness, we take comfort knowing Otto leaves the world a better place than when he arrived. Visitation will be held at Needham Funeral Service (520 Dundas St, London) on Friday from 6-8 pm. and where the funeral service will be held on Saturday February 24, 2018 at 11 am. Interment to follow at Forest lawn memorial gardens. Donations in memory of Otto to The Canadian Red Cross would be appreciated. Tributes may be made at www.needhamfuneralhome.com
