David George Wherry

Passed away peacefully on August 30, 2021 at Victoria Hospital in London, Ontario. Son of George and Helen Wherry (nee Weber). Husband of Judy. Father of Aaron and Laura. Father-in-law of Sharon. Grandfather of Ivy. Brother of Mike (Chris) and Peggy (Dave).

David was born on January 31, 1948 in London. He graduated from Western University with a degree in physics and went on to have a successful career as an insurance consultant. He was quiet and could be stubborn, but he was kind and generous and funny. He liked country music and had an encyclopedic knowledge of cars. He put a lot of thought into Christmas gifts. He enjoyed bad jokes, performatively mispronouncing French words and writing notes from the tooth fairy that claimed she’d been visiting her sister in Buffalo. His granddaughter will always remember that he referred to milk as “moo juice.” A few weeks before he passed, he and Judy were able to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary alongside Laura, Aaron, Sharon and Ivy, all of whom had and have much to be thankful for, in no small part because of him.
